Meet the Team

Melissa

Practice Manager

Veterinary medicine is my passion. I joined the veterinary world straight out of high school in 1993. My first job was at the Oakland SPCA  animal shelter, which progressed into the Veterinary Clinic, and I obtained my RVT license in 1996. I have a broad range of experience from shelter medicine to General Practice, a brief period of animal research, then on to Specialty medicine and Emergency for 23 years, 5 years as a Veterinary Instructor at Carrington College and I finally landed here at ABC Pet Clinic as the Practice Manager where I plan to retire eventually.

Tara Grant

Veterinary Assistant

Tara Grant is a very passionate pet advocate. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years now as a receptionist and vet assistant. She has dedicated her life to rescuing animals; she has worked with kitten rescues and the Pomeranian Rescue Group since she was a teenager.  She was born and raised here in San Ramon and appreciates the great family community that is here. She loves taking her family and dogs to the local dog parks and hiking trails that are nearby.

Debbie Welch

Receptionist

Debbie Welch is a receptionist at ABC Pet Clinic.   She was born and raised in  Livermore.  She currently lives in Tracy with her husband of 33 years, her daughter, and her son.  She shares her home with  2 dogs, Karma and Nyx, and her 3 cats MJ, Izzy, and Gabby.

She has always loved animals but spent most of her career in customer service.  About 13 years ago, she was lucky to get to combine both of those.

In her off time, she loves spending time with her family and taking care of her pets.

Originally born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Norwalk, CT; the Bay Area became my home back in 2017. I am currently enrolled in school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, and a fur mom to 5, 4 cats and 1 miniature pincher (basically another cat hahaha). I’m a CCL (Crazy Cat Lady) in training, and I’m okay with that!

Priyesh Chand

My name is Priyesh Chand. I was born in and raised in the South Bay to immigrant parents from Fiji. I moved up to the Tri-valley during middle school and later attended Foothill High. I obtained my B.S in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology from San Francisco State University. I have hopes and aspirations of being a veterinarian myself and love working with animals and people who also love them. I have three cats named Rocco, Roo and Nelly as well as a red-footed tortoise named Littlefoot. I enjoy being outside, hiking, playing golf and the occasional pickup basketball game at the neighborhood parks. It will be my pleasure to meet and treat your family whenever the time comes.
